Workshops...
As a keen practitioner in this field, I run regular courses and workshops that teach and encourage fellow enthusiastic photographers to enjoy what is available, develop their own style and take their creativity to a new level.
Ranging from half day classroom courses to weekend workshops and covering subjects as diverse as photoshop and fieldcraft, the classes are specifically aimed at discovering and developing the strengths of the individual.Numbers are strictly limited, the flagship class being field workshops for a small group of students where digital slr ownership is a necessary requirement for enrolment.
A key part of my style is to recognise the need to forge a bond with your subject, whether this be landscape or nature. With this goal in mind the outdoor workshops are held in wild nature where the commumion with the spirit of our subject is easier to manifest. This fulfilling connection enables the photographer to portray the true essence of wildness through this artistic medium. The schedule of workshops for the remainder of 2010 are to be announced soon. Let me know if you want to be kept in the loop.
New for 2010, and soon to be announced, are Wildscape Camera Walks, which wiil be held in the wilds of the countryside and will be for larger groups of up to a dozen students. Following a circular route through photogenic environments, these informal workshops will enable students to move through the countryside, creating a photographic journal of the venture whilst benefitting from my company and advice.
I'm excited to mention 'Freestyle Shamanic Nature Photography Workshops'. For those who are open to deepening their natural connection, these day long experiences are about to manifest something new and fresh. Are you interested?
Comments from recent students..."Jason's woodland photography workshop was a wonderful mixture of practical photography tips and spiritual woodland magic. He taught us that connecting with the spirit of our subject was as important as choosing the correct shutter speed.
An inspiring workshop for all levels of ability that awakened my excitement about photography and gave me a sense that anything is possible. I left delighted, inspired and looking forward to a lifetime of seeing the world with new joy through my camera. Jason's workshops will appeal to photographers of all abilites, nature lovers and spiritual seekers." Jackie Stewart
"You pitched this workshop at just the right level for our group and your openness and positive approach was very much appreciated." John Hailstone
"Jason's workshop was great, he was extremely patient with those of us who had limited camera skills and was so inspiring it just made you want to get out there and take more photos. When is the next one?" Anne Kingston
"Excellent! The content was just right. I also thought the layout and general presentation was top notch..." Richard Kettlewell
